Sydney Opera House Grand Organ
The Sydney Opera House Grand organ is in many ways a unique instrument. Built by Ronald Sharp, it has over 10,500 pipes, of which 2,700 can be sounded simultaneously. It is the largest instrument in Australia, and the largest mechanical action organ in the world. This recording captures items from the inaugural series of performances given by several organists in 1979, which began with the recital by Douglas Lawrence.
