Mystery Lights/Nightflower
CLIVE BELL is Britain’s leading player of the Japanese shakuhachi, and a founder member of Jah Wobble’s Deep Space project. DAVID ROSS was drummer for the instrumental combo Kenny Process Team. But none of this would prepare you for Mystery Lights, their first duo recording. This is a spacious, intimate music, full of colour and melody, exploratory but highly accessible. Many instruments, both acoustic and electronic, familiar and unfamiliar, weave a spell hard to resist. This album was made in collaboration with Walter & Donald the budgerigars. Recorded live at "The Earl of Kilgorlin". CD includes a video playable on any PC.

“This is a lovely record. Intimate and unassuming, it sounds like nothing else and imparts a warmth that deepens with each listen. It's music to furnish the secluded corners and secret recesses of the mind, catering from quiet times.” – Julian Cowley (The Wire)

Macroscopia
This CD features some of the most distinctive personalities in the contemporary New York scene inclduing the legendary Daniel Carter (sax, trumpet) who has been a leading light in the avant-garde since the early 70s and has featured on well over 100 recordings.
Claire DeBrunner is an accomplished bassoonist with a classical as well as jazz training, and is one of very few musicians to play the bassoon in improvisational music.
Ken Silverman plays guitar and hand percussion, and bassist Tom Zlabinger is an everpresent in the free jazz worlds of New York and Vienna.
On this album the quartet aim to create a freely improvised chamber-music-like sound without drums, allowing for total rhythmic flexibility and sonic complexity. Although the music can become intense its general tendency is towards the delicate, subtle and intimate. A warm sound for warm evenings.

Borderlands
JONATHAN LORENTZ (sax) with John Menegon (bass), David Calarco (drums)
Featuring Suzanne Katorski and Teri Roiger (vocals)
Borderlands is the name of the Shawn Snow painting that graces the cover of this album. Snow’s art inspired the four-part theme and variations that for the album’s framework. The title also describes the artistic realm in which Jonathan Lorentz finds himself. This is “borderlands” as unsafe, unfamiliar territory, where the only things more vague than the demarcations are the rules. It also represents literal geography: Lorentz is a veteran of the Manhattan scene (with a Ph.D. in jazz studies from NYU), but now based in northeast Upstate New York. Bringing bassist John Menegon and drummer David 'Scorch' Calarco together to form the Trio has allowed JL to experiment, compose and develop his exceptional talents. Jonathan Lorentz is the new face of New York club jazz, whether in the city or out in the Borderlands.
TRACKS: Borderlands(+ parts 2,3 and 4); Sounds Like; Hurmm...
Trane Fare; Drive Down; Stir; He's the Budz; The Sign;
You Snooze You Lose Blues; Drums Play; Motion Detector; Addiction

Quartet Choreography
One of the foremost British ensembles, the Kreutzer Quartet specialises in new music and has already made many recordings for Metier and other labels. This superb film is not only the record of brilliant performances of major modern quartets and fine entertainment, it is also a valuable and rewarding tool for observing how the layers of an ensemble communicate and interact, especially in works like that of Lutoslawski which allow performers a degree of choice. Above all it is a demonstration that music very foten should eb seen as well as heard.

This disc is universal-play (Region 0) and doublesided PAL/NTSC so will play in any country.
Contains:Igor Stravinsky:Three Pieces for String Quartet
Witold Lutoslawski:String Quartet
Gyorgy Ligeti:String Quartet No. 2
