Brandon Music to Host Jazz Series

Brandon, VT -

Brandon Music will host a new Sunday Jazz series beginning April 1, 2012, directed by Jonathan Lorentz, creator and director of the prestigious New Hampshire Jazz Center.

Due to the enormous success Lorentz has had in New Hampshire, Brandon Music initiated this collaboration, which will bring many distinguished jazz artists to the area. The series, entitled Sunday Jazz at Brandon Music , will feature different musicians weekly during the 7 PM Sunday performance slot.

Lorentz, a Vermont native, is a premier saxophonist, having earned a doctorate in jazz performance from NYU. He is renowned for his improvisational skills, blending modern jazz with blues, rock, and the avant-garde. He has performed in the New York City jazz scene and at various venues throughout the northeast and abroad. Lorentz's 2010 album Borderlands was released on England's Métier Jazz label and is available for purchase at Brandon Music.

With the amazing success of the New Hampshire Jazz Center in under a year since its founding, Lorentz promises to enliven the jazz scene in Vermont. Sunday Jazz at Brandon Music will promote a club atmosphere for jazz fans to enjoy world-class live music.

Brandon Music – Vermont's Classical Music Haven - is at 62 Country Club Road, opposite Neshobe Golf Club on Rte 73E.
