Guido: The Four Seasons
Vivaldi's Suite 'The Four Seasons' is probably the best known of all baroque works - at least a few seconds of it are! - possibly it is also the most mis-used music ever! Here is another 'Four Seasons' also from the 18th century, by the little known but quite exceptional composer G.A. Guido. The work lasts for 66 minutes and contains a wide range of early and baroque styles. Performed by New Chamber Opera Ensemble, it is a revelation and a piece which should be as ubiquitous as its namesake. The disc will be officially released to dealers in March but can be purchased here now!
