A PIANO ODYSSEY Trevor Barnard, British-born pianist, leapt to fame in 1962 with his stunning and pioneering recording of the Bliss Piano Concerto with Malcolm Sargent and the Philharmonia (now on Diversions 24106). In his previous Divine Art CDs he has worked to promote the work of contemporary composers from Australia, where he has lived for many years. Here, he not only celebrates his long recording career, but also the development of piano music from J S Bach to the present day. Several tracks were previously on his very successful World Record Club album "An Introduction to Piano Music, some are new. |

“Barnard is a careful craftsman yet has the ability to retain the musicality and sensitivity required to demonstrate the disparate styles. Overall this is a varied microcosm of piano writing...interpreted and performed by a master. Highly recommended” - Rita Crews (The Studio) |

| “Barnard's Piano Odyssey is a rather bipartite affair but it makes for an enjoyable if not quite Homeric journey. I found the Australian works the most exciting performances. Recording quality is consistent despite the vagaries of dates and locations and the notes are helpful.” - Jonathan Woolf (MusicWeb) | |||
| “An ace classical piano man… very much a player you should be better acquainted with, Barnard’s odyssey is a trip well worth taking with him. A marvellous collection.”- Chris Spector (Midwest Record) | |||
